It’s called Gebäck (pastry) that you eat mainly with your coffee in the afternoon or if you would like also for breakfast during the Advent season and at Christmas. There is the traditional Stollen but also a Quark- or Mohnstollen (poppy seeds). Since real Quark is hard to find in the US you could use Ricotta. But both varieties are prepared differently than the traditional Stollen.
